THIS is what the rest of the world is seeing of the USA

Forget about Obama's pastor.  Forget about Hillary's needle threading to get the nomination.

Forget even about the fact that John McCain is an absolute blithering idiot.

That's not what the rest of the world, or at least international business travelers and Europeans are seeing.

Yes, it's Katrina for everyone now.  Tent cities springing up because of massive waves of foreclosures.  Just like the 1930s...

When Katrina hit I was in the UK, and was shocked at the images of the US as a third world country.  Colleagues from other countries went up to give their condolences to me.

Well, it's the Great Depression all over again.  Except there aren't enough trains for hobos nowadays.

And those images alone say more about the diminished state of the US than anything McCain or Limbaugh or Bush can say.

Sad.
